It is wonderful to see all the school activities taking place and not be cancelled due to Covid-19. The spirit is which your children have had a go on the sports days has been wonderful to see and real credit to you as parents. This is a very busy time of the year for teachers as they prepare for farewell assemblies, report writing and initial planning for next year so I know the teachers appreciate your continued support both at school and at home.

Pick Up Zone Trial

This is going extremely well and the difference to the reduction in traffic congestion has been simply amazing. A reminder to please use the crossings and not park in the clearway zone by the Church on Udys Rd. There is an instant fine if issued a ticket.

Overall thank you the road is a lot safer for everyone. The next challenge will be a rainy day but nothing an umbrella or raincoat will not fix. Thank you for the positive feedback we have received both personally and through the office about this initiative.

We are always looking for more help before, during and after events like this so please get in contact with Marnie Rosser via email: Marnie.rosser@gmail.com or the PTA on pta@pakurangaheights.school.nz if you’re keen to jump in and help in anyway.

Even down to people bringing extra vacuum cleaners for faster clean up at the end helps so much. We would love to hear from you 😉

Christmas Trees
Many thanks to the people who responded to our question on whether they would be looking a purchasing a Christmas tree this year.

Due to the lack of interest and parent help we have decided to not do the selling of the Christmas trees this year.

The PTA will make sure to keep in touch with the company who sells them so that we can hopefully get back to selling them next year.

Entertainment Book
The PTA are excited to be working with the Entertainment Book again this year. The PTA get a small percentage from each subscription brought and the best thing is, they have gotten rid of the books and it is all via their very easy to use app. This is constantly getting updated with new deals and you can even buy a multi city subscription so you can use it all throughout New Zealand.

Even though the deals switch over to the next year in June it doesn’t mean you have missed out as you can purchase the app anytime and start using the deals straight away. You can even have the app on multiple devices between family members. Now is the perfect time before the next school holidays to get some savings.

To support our school please click on the link if you wanting to buy the app. Or send to you family and friends!

Farewell to PTA members
With each year that goes by we get to invite new members into the PTA family but also it means that we have PTA members move on once their children leave the school. At the end of this year we are going to be saying goodbye to two members of the PTA who have held the treasurer role and have helped so much over the years. Huge thank you and best wishes to Matt Rowe & Karen Buckley. We will miss you both.
